Funeral services for Clemens Fettig, 77, of Killdeer will be 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Killdeer. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p. m. Clemens passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson. Clemens ?Clem? Fettig was born February 21, 1933, in Dunn County, ND, to Joseph J. and Rose (Fleck) Fettig. He attended grade school and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1951. After high school, Clem joined the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was extremely proud to have served his country. On July 9, 1957, Clem married Betty Hamilton at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer. The couple made their home on the family farm, where they raised their four children and where their three grandchildren love to visit. Clem lived his entire life on the family farmstead until his passing. Clem enjoyed painting rustic pictures and also playing music, especially the fiddle and steel guitar. He loved nature and enjoyed animals and flowers. Clem was a very loving husband and father. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren. Clem was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer, where he served as a mass server, council member, mass reader and catechism teacher. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus as a 3rd Degree Knight and was also a member of the American Legion Club. Clem is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joseph; and a sister, Mary Hartman. Clem is survived by his wife, Betty, Killdeer; sons, Jeffrey, Austin, TX, and Colin (Janeen), Brooklyn Park, MN; daughters, Natalie (John) Lazarakis, Monument, CO, and Paula Fettig, Killdeer; sisters, Eleanor (Charles) Wischer, Seattle, WA, Agnes Schwalbe, Killdeer, Rosa (Harold) Benz, Killdeer, and Doloris (Ed) Higgins, Springfield, OR; brother-in-law, Neale Hartman; and three grandchildren, C. J. Lazarakis, Nicholas Fettig and Hannah Fettig.
