A Christian Funeral Mass for Cliff Obrigewitch, 82, of Sentinel Butte, will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Father Daniel Berg celebrating. Burial will take place in the Medora Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation for Cliff will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary & Vigil Service being held at 7:00 p.m.
Cliff passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home in Sentinel Butte.
Cliff was born and raised on a farm/ranch north of Belfield, ND on August 25, 1934 to Tony and Bertha (Schaeffer) Obrigewitch. He grew up on the home place north of Belfield along with his twelve brothers and sisters. He attended country school in Billings County and high school at Belfield and New England. He joined the Army and served from ’55 to ’56 in Alaska. Following his honorable discharge, he traveled, rodeoed and worked various construction jobs. He married Gerty Chruszch in June 1962, residing in Medora and then Sentinel Butte. He ranched his entire lifetime and ran a construction company until 1991. The home place was a gathering place for friends and animals alike.
Survivors include his three children: Denise (John) Raisler, Beach, ND, Shawn Obrigewitch, Ellicott City, Maryland – his two children, Nicholas and Jennifer, and Michelle (Larry) Thompson, Belgrade, Montana; siblings, Charlotte Hlebechuk, Gloria Weber, Claude (Ruth), Maurice (Bernie), Bertram, Val (Carol), Rose, Nita (Curt) Talkington, Tony, Tim and Terry; sister-in-law, Angie Chruszch.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerty; his parents, Tony & Bertha Obrigewitch; brother, Gerald, four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.
