Funeral mass for Clifford Davis, 84, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Monsignor Gene Lindemann and Monsignor Thomas Richter concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visitation for Clifford will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil service taking place at 6:00 pm.
Clifford passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at St. Gabriel’s Benedictine Living Community in Bismarck surrounded by family.
Clifford Anthony Davis was born on August 24, 1940 in Taylor, North Dakota to Clifford Edward and Mary (Friesz) Davis, the second youngest of seven children. He grew up on the family farm south of Taylor and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1959.
Clifford married Marietta Kovash on October 8, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple was blessed with four children, Brad, Gwen, Kurt, and Jeremy.
Clifford did several odd jobs throughout the years, including driving school bus, working as the Taylor postmaster, and radio broadcasting. He became an insurance agent in 1977 and made that his career.
Clifford was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. Later in life, he and Marietta spent their winters in Palm Springs, California, where Clifford enjoyed golfing as a hobby.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marietta; children, Brad (Jane) Davis of Dickinson, Gwen Davis of Mandan, Kurt (Wendy) Davis of Columbia Falls, MT, and Jeremy (Carrie) Davis of Mandan; grandchildren, Joshua Rice, Kristen (Kent) Preszler, Benjamin (Linsey) Davis, Adam (Tami) Davis, Zachary Davis, Taylor Davis, Arin Davis, Noah Davis, Elijah Davis, and Zoe Davis; and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Sadie, Jude, Claire, Drew, Elle, and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Mary; all of his siblings; and a son-in-law, Eric Davis.
