Funeral Services for Clyde Crawford, 81, of Baker, MT will be 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, July 11, 2009, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with the Rev. Father Thomas Tobin officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawford Family Cemetery at the Crawford Ranch northeast of Baker, MT. Visitation will be 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Friday, July 10th, at Stevenson Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday, from 9:00 a. m. until the time of the service. Clyde Leo Crawford passed away on July 7, 2009 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT due to a brief illness while surrounded by his family to the very end. Clyde Crawford was born on March 4, 1928, on his family ranch northeast of Baker. He was the son of Gus and Bertha (Helland) Crawford. He grew up and attended school at the O?Donnell School. While attending school, Clyde helped on the family ranch by herding sheep. Clyde was a self taught man of many talents. Clyde married Rosella ?Rose? Grenstiner on December 21, 1949. To this union six children were born, David, Judy, Deb, Rosella, Sharon and Steve. Also to this union ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren born who were the love of his life. Clyde had a life filled with many endeavors, from sheep shearing, rough necking to farming and ranching. Clyde was a very hard worker from sun up to sun down. Clyde had many pastimes that he enjoyed. He always had a beautiful garden and potatoes and corn patch that he was always excited to share. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time and sharing stories with his family and friends. Clyde will be remembered as a man that was always there to lend a hand and helpful voice. He was a man of great strength and pride; too many a Legend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Bertha, an infant sister, Bernetta Ruth, two sisters, Marguerite Varner and Ida Mae Sleeth, two brothers, Jim Crawford and Cliff Crawford, a son-in-law, David Ranum and a great-grandson, Tuff Cole Ranum. Survivors include his wife, Rose, Baker, MT; his children, David (Anna) Crawford, Baker, MT, Judy (Dave ) Trusty, Lolo, MT, Deb Ranum, Baker, MT, Rosella (Rick) Fisher, Glendive, MT, Sharon (John) Thielen, Baker, MT and Steve Crawford, Baker, MT; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jess (Marie) Crawford, Chouteau, MT and Roy (Eileen) Crawford, Grants Pass, OR; a sister, Miriam Kirschten, Baker, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. Clyde was blessed with the grandest wife in the world, who was with him to the very end.
