A funeral service for Clyde Frank, 70, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. MDT, Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastor Lisa Lewton and Pastor Joe Natwick officiating. Military honors will be presented by Dickinson Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Peace Cemetery near Beulah, ND at 2:00 p. m. MDT. Visitation for Clyde will be from 2:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. on Sunday, March 13 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 4:00 p. m. Clyde passed away at his home, after a battle with cancer, with his family by his side on Monday, March 7, 2016. Clyde Frank was born February 10, 1946 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Emil and Elizabeth (Keller) Frank. He was baptized in Bismarck, ND on April 17, 1946. Clyde grew up and attended country school near the farm 14 miles south of Beulah, ND, graduating from Beulah High School. He went on to attend National College of Business in Rapid City, SD. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the Vietnam War later receiving a bronze star. After returning from the Army, Clyde went to Dickinson State College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. In 1972 Clyde began working at Fisher Sand and Gravel, working as the comptroller. He was also the company’s pilot for a few years. On June 14, 1980, Clyde and Eunice were united in marriage in Dickinson. To this union two sons were born: Scott and Tyler. Clyde continued working at Fisher Sand and Gravel until his retirement in 2009. He then went on to work at Solar Bee as the CFO from 2011 to 2013. Clyde was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday school, and helped as an usher. He was member of the St. John Lutheran Trust Fund Committee, and Church Council becoming Council president in 1979. Clyde also served as president for both the Dickinson Public School Foundation and Dickinson Building Exchange. Clyde was involved with the Dickinson Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee and Civil Air Patrol. He was also very involved with the Rotary Club, serving as president from 2003-2004. Clyde went on service trips to Guatemala and India through the Rotary Club. He was an active leader and volunteer with Boy Scouts of America serving as Scoutmaster, District Chairman, and Roughrider Roundup Chairman. Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, farming, gardening, traveling, and using his carpentry skills, as he was always found building things. He loved spending his time at the lake cabin; bird watching, boating, and water skiing. Clyde especially loved the times spent with his family. He was known to coordinate family reunions so that everyone could get together in Beulah. You could often find him taking pictures and videoing the family. Clyde is survived by his sons, Scott (Tosha) and Tyler (Jane) both of Dickinson; two grandchildren, Cameron and Axel; brothers, Robert (Marlene) of Washburn, ND, Walter (Heidi) of Lakefield, MN and Dwight (Beverly) of Beulah, ND. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; parents, Emil & Elizabeth; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sharron; nephews, Eric Frank and Aaron Frank. The family suggests memorials be given to St. John Lutheran Church Trust Fund.
