Connie Hawkinson, 70, Killdeer, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Thursday, September 30, 2004, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Killdeer, with Fr. Jerry Ruelle, OSB celebrating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery, rural Killdeer. Visitation will be Wednesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m. and will continue at the church in Killdeer beginning at 4:30 p. m. There will be a parish vigil at 7 p. m. Wednesday at the church. Connie Marie Hawkinson was born July 27, 1934, the daughter of Emil and Faith (Blackburn) Hawkinson. Connie attended rural Killdeer grade school and graduated from Killdeer High School. Upon graduation she found work in Fargo, ND at the Powers Hotel and Caf? for 2 ? years. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she was employed in the accounting department of Motorola Radio and TV, Inc. and later worked in the credit department of Emerson Radio and TV, Inc. Prior to moving back to Killdeer she lived in Honolulu, Hawaii as a cashier in the accounting department of VonHamm-Young. Connie was elected to the Dunn County Treasurer?s Office in Manning in 1975, and worked there for 20 years, retiring in 1995. After retiring, she worked part time for Hill Top Home of Comfort and also volunteered by ironing for residents. Connie also volunteered at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, volunteering and visiting with friends and relatives. Connie was a member of Catholic Daughters, Court St. Catherine #323 and American Legion Auxiliary. Connie is survived by: three sisters, Patricia Steckler, Dunn Center, LaDonna (Clarence) Klatt, Killdeer and Mabel (Dennis) Lund, Loveland, CO; eight brothers, Clinton (Leona), Memphis, TN, Charles (Doloras), Spokane, WA, Duane (Shirley), Tioga, ND, Pat (Carol), Killdeer, Aaron, Hamilton, MT, Donald (Judy), Butte, MT, Robert (Kathy), Sand Springs, OK and Tom (Virginia), Hutchinson, KS; 34 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her sister, Roberta Ann; a sister-in-law, Sharon Hawkinson and a brother-in-law, Leonard Steckler. Memorials are preferred to: Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer, ND 58640.
