Funeral Services for Conrad Heidecker, 90, of Dickinson, ND will be 9:00 a. m. , Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at St. John?s Espiscopal Church in Dickinson, ND with Pastor Bruce MacDuffie officiating. Military Rites will be by the Dickinson Veteran?s Drill Team. Burial will follow in the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery Mandan, ND. Visitation will be from 9 am ? 9 pm at Stevenson Funeral Home Dickinson, ND with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 7 pm at the chapel. Conrad passed away Sunday, December 07, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, ND with family at his side. Conrad N. Heidecker was born December 16, 1917, in Taylor, ND, the son of Conrad and Anna (Haupt) Heidecker. He grew up and attended country school in Taylor, ND along with helping on the family farm. As a young man, he was inducted into the US Army on July 11, 1941 at Fort Hayes, OH. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was honorably discharged on November 8, 1945. Conrad purchased a filling station which he operated for several years. Conrad moved to Las Vegas where he worked construction and was a member of the Teamsters Union. In 1980, Conrad retired and moved to Bozeman, Montana where he enjoyed his retirement. Several years ago Conrad moved to Dickinson where he made his home since. Conrad enjoyed fishing, playing poker and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also liked spending time out at the family farm south of Halliday and just being outdoors. Conrad is survived by his sister, Barbara Stransky, Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Shirley, Charlotte, Donald, Janice, Linda, Bonnie, David, Jolene, Danelle, Ann, Fred, Alice, Joe, Rosann, John, Robert, Lorraine, Anna Mae, Matt, Grace, Delores and Eugene; numerous great nieces and nephews. Conrad passed away Sunday, December 07, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, ND with family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Frank, Bill & Matt; and two sisters, Lena Grundhauser and Elsie Nerhus.
