Graveside service for Cordell Roy Leidholm, 66, of Dickinson, ND, will be held 3:00 p.m. CT Monday, Nov. 29, 2021 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Military honors presented by Mandan VFW Post 707.
Cordell passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, November 18, 2021.
Cordell (Corky) was born May 2, 1955, the son of Roy and Eva (Senger) Leidholm in Turtle Lake, ND. He grew up in Washburn, ND where he attended grade school and graduated from Washburn High School, class of 1973. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served overseas for 3 years and served 3 years in the reserves. Cordell was a certified SCUBA diver in his early years and in his later years a HAM Radio operator. He loved to tinker on many projects and saved any and all spare parts for the next one. He also enjoyed leather work and various beadwork projects. He was a heavy equipment operator for Northern Improvement for several years before retiring. Cordell was lovingly referred to as Mr. Mom by his two daughters.
Cordell is survived by his daughters, Tina (Chris) Leidholm of Dickinson and Amy (Blake) Leidholm of McCall, ID; his five grandchildren Halo, Emrys, Ryker, Remington, and Caliber; seven younger siblings Dean (Geri) of Bismarck, ND, Dwayne (Jan) of Vergas, MN, Glynda (Jerry) Janz of Mandan, ND, Tammy (Jeff) Novak of Hayward, WI, Brian (Tamra) of Reno, NV, Karen (Gerard) Perkerewicz of Grafton, ND, Sharon (Joel) Rivers of New Bern, NC; and his significant other Diane Hatzenbuehler of Dickinson, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Eva Leidholm of Washburn, ND.
