Funeral Mass for Cornelius ?Neil? Clarys, 87, of Dickinson, ND will be 9:30 a. m. , Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a. m. , to 9 p. m. , Monday, June 29, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with a rosary service at 7:30 p. m. Cornelius passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Hilltop Home of Comfort in Killdeer, ND. Cornelius F. Clarys or ?Neil? as everyone knew him by was born September 14, 1921 in Dickinson, ND to Cornelius P. and Agnes (Ridle) Clarys. He grew up on the family farm in the Ash Coulee area. He attended grade school at the Ash Coulee # 1. After his schooling, he continued to work on the farm until 1937, at which time he went to work for the CCC for several years. During World War II, Neil worked in the Mare Island Shipyards. After the war he returned home for several years before moving east to Wimbledon, ND were he made his home with his sister, Agnes. It was here where Neil began farming on his own. He retired in 1984 and moved back to Dickinson, ND, where he has lived ever since. Neil enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church. Neil is survived by his brother, Jim (Madeline M. ) Clarys, Dickinson, ND; sisters; Agnes Samek, Wimbledon, ND and Mary Jane (Gene) Hunnicutt, Rantoul, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Joseph Clarys; sister; Ann Schnaidt; brother-in-law; Laudie V. Samek
