Curtiss Christensen was born February 28, 1915 to Fred and Tony (Ahrens) Christensen on the family farm near Halliday. Curt grew up and attended area country schools while helping on the farm. He later began working at various other Farm and Ranch operations throughout the Halliday and Dunn Center area. On October 8, 1940, Curt married Hazel Reckard in Dunn Center, ND. The couple spent the next several years working on various ranches that they leased, before moving back to the Christensen family ranch north of Dunn Center. It was here that they made their home and raised their three children. Curt worked the remainder of his life here, where he was always busy and became quite a Horseman. When he did find time to get away, Curt enjoyed hunting and fishing, and taxidermy. Curt truly loved spending time with his family on the ranch. He also enjoyed gardening and working with his flowers. Music was another talent of Curt?s and he was known to play guitar, piano, accordion, and harmonica. He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two sons: Delmonte (Sally) Christensen of Minot, ND and Eldon Christensen of Kallispell, MT; one daughter, Lucy (Pete) Fleckenstein of Bismarck; four grandchildren: Dennis (Theresa) Christensen of Las Vegas, NV; Tanya Cox of Portland, OR; Mathew (Jessica) Christensen of Kansas; and Todd (Shelly) Christensen of Pablo, MT; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Remsing of Texas.
