Cynthia Crooker

A funeral service for Cynthia “Cindy” Crooker, 44, of Manning will be at 11:00 a. m. , Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Killdeer, ND with Pastor John Simonson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery north of Killdeer. Visitation for Cindy will be 4:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m. , Friday, September 12th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer. Cindy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, surrounded by her family at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Cindy was born August 16, 1970 in Williston, ND, the daughter of Clifford and Vernetta (Bratcher) Olson. Her family moved to rural Verndale, Minnesota, in 1972, where they farmed and ranched. While attending Verndale Public School, Cindy was very active in sports and band and she graduated in 1988. Cindy married Allen Crooker on August 20, 1991. The couple then moved to his farm south of Wadena, MN. Their daughter Kayla was born on December 30, 1991. Cindy loved attending all of Kayla’s school functions and never missed a concert, play, match, or an event. In 2008, Cindy moved to Killdeer, ND to be closer to family and she recently was a resident of Manning, ND. Cindy enjoyed horseback riding and motorcycles. She loved to travel and see new places. Her largest passion in life, however, was spending time with her family and friends. Cindy is survived by her mother, Vernetta Olson of Manning, ND; brother, Jeffrey Olson of Iowa City, IA; daughter, Kayla Crooker of Fargo, ND; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was proceeded in death by her father, Clifford Olson, and extended family.
