Funeral services for Dale Harker, 59, of Fargo, formerly of Dickinson, will be at 2:00 p. m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a. m. to 2:00 p. m. Thursday, September 23, 2010. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p. m. CDT Friday, September 24, 2010 at Kirkebo Lutheran Church in Perley, MN. Dale passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his home in Fargo, ND. Dale was born October 27, 1950 the son of Robert and Beatrice (Hovland) Harker in Fargo, ND. He grew up in the Perley area, where he attended Borup High School, graduating in 1968. Dale continued his education at Moorhead State Technical College, receiving his degree in Diesel Mechanics. After graduating, he worked at State Oil and Auto in Hunter, ND. In 1978, he moved to California, and was employed with California Cooling and Supply for 27 years. Dale returned to Dickinson, ND in 2003 and worked as an insurance salesman for Combined Insurance. Several years later he completed truck driving school where he received his CDL. He later moved to the Fargo area where he attended Minnesota State Technical and Community College, until the time of his passing. He traveled extensively and visited many countries with his favorite being England where in Harrods he had a chance encounter with Princess Diana. Dale enjoyed golfing, singing in the church choir and restoring his Mustang. He dearly loved his cats, Cujo and Buddy. Survivors include, two brothers, Dennis Harker of Sandstone, MN, and Terry (Diane) Harker of Belfield, ND. Several nieces and nephews, Brendan (Michelle) Harker and daughter, Katlyn of Shillington, PA, Tyson (Ashley) Harker and daughters, Tayah and Averi of Gardner, KS, Shandra (Lee) Pritchard and sons, Landon and Hayden of Fargo, ND, Jordan Harker of Martell, NE and Revae Harker of Manchester, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beatrice Harker.
