Dana L. Thompson, 66, of Dickinson passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Dana Lordean was born on October 19, 1951 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Clarence and Eleanor (Coss) Thompson. He graduated from Central Valley in Buxton, ND. Dana married Carolyn on July 7, 1973 in Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. To this union, three children were born, Heather, Kristi and Aaron. Dana worked as a salesman with KNOX, JC Penny until he became an electrician. He earned his master electrician with Bergstrom Electric. Dana later moved to Dickinson where he worked for Electric Sales and Service until March 2018. While in Grand Forks, Dana was very involved with the Grand Forks Gun Club. He also was a Hunter Safety Instructor and a member of the Jaycee’s. Dana was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, sporting clays, riding motorcycle through the badlands with friends and fishing. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren.
Dana is survived by his son, Aaron Thompson of Grand Forks; daughters, Heather (Christopher) Sosa of Houston, TX and Kristi (Kelly) Larson of Fargo; five grandchildren; mother, Eleanor Thompson; brother, Doug Thompson of Buxton, ND; sisters, Deborah (Deb) Cook of Fargo, Dawn Santangelo of East Grand Forks, MN and Darla Gunderson of Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Thompson; cousin and dear friend, Kenny Hjelmstad; grandmother, Ingrid (Pat) Coss.
