Funeral Services for Daniel Dean Cheadle, 71 of Baker will be 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Bruce Kolasch officiating. Military Honors will be by the Baker American Legion Post. Burial will be in the Belfield Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. , continuing on Wednesday prior to the service at Stevenson Funeral Home. Daniel passed away Thursday, June16, 2005 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. He was born July 21, 1933 at Fryburg, North Dakota the son of Daniel and Jennifer (Coulson) Cheadle. He grew on the home place at Fryburg, attending grade school and high school at Belfield. In his senior year and during the Korean conflict, Daniel joined the United States Navy. Through his four years of service to the Navy, Daniel received his GED. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Fryburg where he began working in the oilfields of western North Dakota and eastern Montana. In 1954, Daniel was married to Patricia Smith in Virginia. Daniel eventually went to work for Northern Tank Line driving truck out of their Baker, Montana office. He worked himself up through the company to managing the Baker office. It was during this time he developed an interest in mechanics. After Daniel left Northern Tank Line, he moved to Laurel, Montana and began working for Cummings Engines. Daniel returned to Baker and worked part-time for Merle Hayden Trucking, retiring in the early 1980?s. On November 22, 1975 he married Cleonne Faye Crow at Baker, Montana. Daniel and Cleonne were the last couple married by Justice of the Peace Herbst before his retirement. Daniel enjoyed playing the electronic poker machines, fishing, traveling and using his wrenches to fix anything that needed attention. In January of 2005, Daniel entered Fallon Medical Complex. Survivors include his wife, Cleonne of Baker; four daughters: Cheryl Freiden of Hanibal, MO; Jamie Cheadle Culp of Baker, MT; Jennifer Cheadle of Hanibal, MO and Danielle Cheadle of MI; a stepdaughter, Jackie Entzel of Killdeer, ND; a sister, June Schwindt of Medora, ND, 13 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gordon; two sisters: Katherine Cheadle and Gladys Evasuik; two sons: Danny and Gary; a daughter Julia Gribble; and his former wife, Patricia.
