Daniel Hartin

Funeral Mass for Daniel Hartin, 73, of Punta Gorda, Fl, will be held at 11:00 a.m. CT, Saturday, April, 13, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.


Visitation for Daniel will be one hour prior to the service.


Daniel passed away, March 20, 2019 at The Palms of Punta Gorda Assisted Living in Punta Gorda, FL.


Daniel Allan Hartin was born on September 25, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa to Gordon & Wanda (Zahnley) Hartin. He married Viola Gartner in October of 1971 in Sioux City, Iowa. Daniel enlisted into the United States Navy in 1966 and served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Naval Reserve and in retirement served as a captain on his own ship. Daniel was an accomplished artist and musician. He worked as a Journeyman Electrician as a lifelong member of IBEW Local 231.


He is survived by his siblings, John (Patty) Hartin of Leveland, TX, Mary (Fred) Linder or West Des Moines, IA, William (Jill) Hartin of Austin, TX; best friend, Jim Mrzlak of Punta Gorda, FL; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Wanda; and wife Viola Hartin.
