Funeral Mass for Daniel Schepper, 89, of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Killdeer will be held 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, May 5, 2011 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Killdeer, with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Killdeer. Visitation for Daniel will be from 5 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , Wednesday, May 5, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer. Daniel passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Brookside Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL. Daniel Schepper was born July 8, 1921 in Killdeer, the son of John and Caroline (Johner) Schepper. He grew up and attended school in Fayette Country. He joined the CCCs in 1937 until 1939. On June 16, 1941, Dan married Eugenia Thomas at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Fayette. Together they farmed until 1944, when they moved to Regan, ND. After spending one year southeast of Bismarck, they moved to Bismarck and then Silver City, ND, to help build the Garrison Dam. In 1952, they family moved to East Gary, Indiana where Dan worked for Rockwell International in Gary, Indiana for 29 years. In 1978, the couple retired and moved to Killdeer to take care of his mother. He also did carpentry work on the Gasification Plant, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Lion’s Park. Dan is survived by one son, Gary (Debra) Schepper of Celina, TX; one daughter, Karen (Marv) Ottoson of Palm Harbor, FL; two brothers, Mike of Bismarck, ND and Edward of New Mexico; two sisters, Lillian Hjelmstadt and Rose Olson both of Fargo, ND; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents; John and Caroline Schepper; one son Terrance; one infant brother, John and two brothers Frank and Antone.
