A funeral service for Darrell Allen Fox, 58, of Valley City, ND, formerly of Twin Buttes, will be 10:00 a. m. CDT, Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Twin Buttes Community Hall with Pastor Marilyn Levine officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin Buttes Congregational Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 5:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. at the Twin Buttes Community Hall in Twin Buttes, ND with a wake service being held at 5:00 p. m. CDT. Darrell went home to be with his Lord and all the family and friends that have passed on before him, on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City. Darrell Allen Fox was born November 3, 1956 in Hazen, ND, the son of Lee Fox, Sr. and Elizabeth Marie (Smith) Fox. He was a member of the Prairie Chicken Clan and MHA nation. He attended elementary school in Twin Buttes, ND until 1969 when Lee & Marie moved their family to Bismarck, ND to attend the UTTC. Darrell then started his Jr. High and High school education in the Bismarck school system. He continued his education attending the UTTC, completing a course in cooking. He also attended the Kicking Horse Job Corp. , completing a forestry course. Darrell spent most of his life in convalescent homes due to being severely injured in a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident in the early 80’s. However, he continued his drawing of Native American art. He enjoyed listening to various native drum groups and would sing along with the singers. In his youth, Darrell was a Champion Grass Dancer. He was also a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. Darrell is survived by his brothers, Wilmer and Palmer of Parshall, ND; sisters, Tootsie of New Town and Sharon of Waubay, SD, Jackie of Bismarck, Betty of Denver, CO and Amanda of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee & Marie; brothers, Lee Fox, Jr. , Harley Fox, Robert Lee Fox Sr. , Eugene Redday; sister, Luann Fox; paternal grandparents, Emily (Grady) Fox and Charles Fox; maternal grandparents, Emma Grace Lanceowner and Allen Smith and so many other relatives too numerous to mention.
