A funeral service for Darrell R. Snyder, 51, of Belfield, will be 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Inurnment will follow in Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation for Darrell will be from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. , Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Darrell passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his home near Belfield. Darrell Raymond Synder was born May 30, 1964 in Dickinson, ND. He grew up in Dickinson and spent time on the family farm north of Belfield. Darrell attended Jefferson Elementary and Dickinson High School through the 11th grade. After high school, Darrell worked for Olheiser Masonry and later Ed Dvorak. Darrell started D & R Truck and Auto that he operated for a number years. On January 7, 1984, Darrell and Margo Mayer were united in marriage in Dickinson. To this union four children were born: D. J. , Sherrena, Steaddmann and Melannie. The family lived in Dickinson for several years before moving to Gallup, New Mexico. While living in Gallup, Darrell and his brothers operated MCMC. The family returned to North Dakota to live on the family farm. It was during this time that Darrell and his son D. J. opened Snyder Repair. He continued to work on the family ranch. Darrell celebrated turning 50 years old by getting his first tattoo. Darrell enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, and collecting guns. He could often be found visiting and helping his friends. Darrell found great joy working with his cattle and was rarely seen without his favorite Oakley sunglasses. His greatest love was for his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Darrell could often be heard saying that his children were the best thing that ever happened to him and his greatest joy. Darrell was a member of the Medora Grazing Association. Darrell is survived by his children, D. J. (Mandy) Snyder of Belfield, Sherrena (Dusty) Freeburg of Dickinson, Steaddmann Snyder of Belfield, and Melanie Snyder of Belfield; grandchildren, Katrina & Kaytlin Freeburg, and Charity, Samara, Dante & Jiraiya Snyder; mother, Nancy Snyder; siblings, Dennis (Stacey) Snyder of Belfield, Jeremy Snyder of Bismarck, and Kathy Quillman of Albuquerque, NM; five nephews; four nieces; one great-nephew; and three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Snyder; brother, Melvin Snyder; paternal grandparents, Joe & Margaret Snyder; maternal grandmother, Nancy Granvold; and a baby grandson.
