Daryl Vernon Luff was born December 11, 1955, in Dickinson, to Marlin and Rose (Zillich) Luff. He was raised on the family farm south of Taylor next to the Heart River and lived there until 1999 when he moved to town. He attended school in Taylor for 12 years and graduated Salutatorian. He then attended Dickinson State University and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Businees Administration. He worked for the U. S. Postal Service and the city of Taylor providing many services to the community. He was a member of the Taylor Lutheran Church and was a regular attendee of the men?s bible study group. Daryl served as treasurer of the Taylor Ecumenical Parish for many years and served as grounds keeper for the Taylor Lutheran Church. Daryl enjoyed spending time with his family. He was always ready for a card game or scrabble. He loved crossword puzzles and could define and spell words most of us can?t even pronounce or have even heard of. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan and almost never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. In the summer, he enjoyed gardening and supplying friends and family with fresh vegetables. During the years he lived on the farm, there were always 4-5 friendly cows that thought everybody that came to the pasture would hand feed them cake. Survivors include, his mother, Rose Luff, Taylor; a brother, Ron (Lucy) Luff, Taylor; three nieces; Tanya (Chad) Skager, Brenda (Brent) Reems and Kayla (AJ) Johnson; and a great niece, Megan Reems.
