A Funeral Mass for David A. Tabor, 86, of Killdeer, will be 2:00 p. m., Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Killdeer with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery.
Visitation for David will be 1:00 p. m. – 2:00 p. m. at the church on Saturday.
David passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.
David A. Tabor was born October 24, 1926 in Killdeer, the son of Anthony “Tony” and Martha (Kowis) Tabor. He grew up in the Grassy Butte area, attending school through the ninth grade. David and Virginia Roshau went out to Seattle, WA. They were married on June 19, 1947. The couple soon returned to Killdeer and where he self educated himself for radio and tv repair. To this union, two children were born, Cheryl and Daryl. David worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years. While working with the Postal Service, David owned and operated Tabor TV and Appliance and also did construction work. David was a very active cowboy and enjoyed working with cattle and riding his horses. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Killdeer as well as many civic and community organizations.
David is survived by his son, Daryl (Loretta) Tabor of Dickinson; daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Buehner of Dunn Center; grandchildren, Cody (Jessica) Buehner, Austin (Emiley) Buehner, Amos Buehner, Nathan (Marisol) Tabor, and David (fiance’ Sara Applegate) Tabor; great-grandson, Luis Tabor; brothers, Richard (Shirley) Tabor of Phoenix, AZ, Dale (Tish) Tabor of Tucson, AZ, George (Polly) Tabor of Killdeer, ND and Lynn (Ilene) Tabor of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Sandi Fries of Phoenix, AZ, Rosella Hale, Eleanor Thompson, and Anna Marie Sherry all of Seattle, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; and infant brother, Conrad.
