Funeral service for David J. Tysver Jr., 75, of Killdeer, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer with burial to follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer.
David passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Sanford, Bismarck.
David was born in Dickinson on January 29, 1949, the son of David J. Sr. and Alice (Rychner) Tysver. He grew up in Killdeer and went to school through the eighth grade. He lived with his special aunt and uncle, Joe and Annie Tysver, following the eighth grade and before being drafted into the US Army. Following his discharge from the military, David returned to Killdeer for a short period before moving to Colorado Springs. He attended welding school there and then came back to the Killdeer area. He was an employee with McKenzie Electric until he received his CDL and became a truck driver for several years. David worked in Alaska at a landfill for a short time and then returned to Killdeer to retire. We will remember David drinking his coffee and smoking his cigarettes.
David is survived by his sons, David S. (Shelly) Tysver, Chad Tysver; daughter, Wendy Bender; grandchildren, Miranda Nell, Sabryna (Teddy) Boyer, Cayla Tysver, David Edwin Tysver, Daryl Crispin, Lane Tysver, Trace Tysver, Avery Tysver, Cody Garner, Shaylee Bender; great-grandchildren, Rylan Nell, Tucker Kutzler, Elias Boyer, and Logan Crispin; sisters, Sandra Benz, Renee Tysver; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Sr. and Alice Tysver; brother, Duane Tysver; sister, Carol Tysver; granddaughter, Jordan Rae; Aunt Annie and Uncle Joe Tysver.
