Funeral services for Dean Brim, 47, of Twin Buttes, will be 11:00 a.m. CDT, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Twin Buttes Memorial Hall, Twin Buttes, North Dakota with Pastor Barry Zeitz officiating. Burial will be in the Spotted Bear-Benson Family Cemetery. A wake service for Dean will be held at 5:00 p.m. CDT, Sunday, October 23 at Twin Buttes Memorial Hall in Twin Buttes.
Dean passed away October 19, 2011 near Twin Buttes.
Dean David Brim was born September 14, 1964 in Minnesota, the son of Victor and Lillian (Spotted Bear) Brim. He grew up and attended school in Twin Buttes and Halliday, North Dakota. As a young boy, he moved with his parents to Ft. Worth, Texas where he completed his schooling. On May 18, 1983, Dean married Jocelyn (Julie) Naval in Ft. Worth, Texas. Together they raised two daughters, Laura and Alisha. He later returned to North Dakota and resided in the Twin Buttes area. Dean worked as a mechanic all his life and his career took him to several locations which included Texas, Washington, and North Dakota. He loved riding his motorcycle and his custom-made bicycle. He was very creative with his hands and enjoyed completing many different craft projects. Dean was known to make bow and arrows as well as arrowheads. He was an avid reader and enjoyed a good debate. Dean was very articulate and well versed on any subject you would care to visit about. Spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him great joy. He loved the Badlands, horses, and reservation life. Dean was an enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. He was a member of the Knife Clan.
Dean is survived by his wife, Julie of Tri-Cities, Washington; two daughters: Laura (Brandon) Dalbeck of Tri-Cities, Washington, and Alisha Brim of Twin Buttes, North Dakota; and two brothers: Albert Brim of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Casey Brim of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Lillian; and his maternal grandparents, Justin and Stella (Tail) Spotted Bear.
