Deb passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in Yuma, AZ after a battle with cancer.

She was born in Dickinson, ND on August 30, 1963 the daughter of Robert and Alice Bezdicek.  She spent her early years on the family farm near Manning, ND and graduated from Trinity High School in 1981.  She went on to graduate from NDSU and took employment in Casselton and Fargo, ND.  Deb was an avid Bison fan.  She was such a big fan, she once bought a ticket to the championship game in Texas a year in advance (they won).

Deb had a big heart and was always ready to volunteer to help someone.  However, after a particularly hard Fargo area winter with lots of flooding and sandbagging, she jumped at an opportunity to take a transfer to Yuma, AZ.  While working in Yuma, she changed to an accounting post at Yuma Regional Medical Center and later moved into management.  She touched many lives throughout Yuma Regional Medical Center and was a loved member of their accounting “family.”

Deb was an involved member of the Yuma community, volunteering for numerous charities and fundraisers, including Hospice of Yuma.  She served as a member of their annual golf tournament committee, selling raffle tickets and soliciting raffle prizes.  She wasn’t a particularly good golfer, but if it was a fundraiser and involved golf, she was all in.

She loved to cook and usually took over the kitchen when home on the farm.  She was also a reliable food contributor for gatherings of Yuma Bison fans on game day.  Two of her most popular dishes at these Bison gatherings were her grape jelly meatballs and her famous cheese dip.  She loved sports and could engage sports fans of all ages in talking about the NDSU Bison, her Dallas Cowboys, or the Arizona Diamondbacks.  She loved to have fun and was known for drawing people together, whether hanging out at Jimmy Dee’s, watching games with Bison friends on game days, or doing things with her Yuma “family”.  Deb was very social and made friends easily, wherever she went.

Deb had a soft spot for pets and they seemed to be drawn to her.  When she became ill, she received great comfort and joy from her precious baby girl, her dog Gracie.  In addition to Gracie, Deb is survived by her loving parents, Robert and Alice Bezdicek (Manning, ND), brothers; Greg, Myron (wife Rita) and Jeff, and sister; Joyce (husband Milt Epstein) and nephews Aidan and Devin Epstein.
