Funeral services for Delores Klein, 87, of Bismarck, formerly of Hebron, will be 10:30 a. m. CDT, Thursday, August 6, 2015, at First Congregational Church, Hebron with Pastor Marcy Dawson officiating. Burial will take place in First Congregational Cemetery.
Visitation for Delores will be 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron.
Delores Klein, 87, Bismarck, formerly of Hebron, passed peacefully with her children at her side on August 2, 2015.
Delores was born May 31, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Nicklaus) Gruebele. She was raised and went to school in Elgin where she met Alfred Klein, who became her best friend for life. Alfred and Delores were married June 5, 1949 and that October, they moved to Hebron where Alfred took over the Standard Oil bulk business. Delores was active in her church where she loved to sing in the choir, was a charter member of the Guiding Light, a member of Germans from Russia and The American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to quilt and cook. Some of her favorites were her world famous strudel, knoephla and kuchen. In 2008, she moved to Bismarck. The greatest pride and joy of her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Alan) Roffler-Bismarck, her two sons, Dean (Barbara)-Minneapolis and Darold-Bismarck, her grandchildren, Kelli (Luke) Pfaff, DeAnn (Jason) Keffeler, Brandon (Melissa) Klein, Brooks Klein, Derek Klein, Jared Klein; nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and her brother, Edmund (Shirley) Gruebele-New Leipzig. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Alfred (1999), her sister, Irene Klein and brother, Melvin Gruebele.
