Delores Kreis

Delores Kreis, 71 of Glen Ullin, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, while a patient at the Jacobsen Memorial Hospital in Elgin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 10:30 Central Time at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glen Ullin. Visitation will begin on Tuesday after 3:00 PM at Spangelo Funeral Home in Glen Ullin with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Glen Ullin Cemetery. Delores was born April 5, 1936 at New Leipzig, ND, the daughter of Ted and Hilda (Roth) Zimmerman. She was raised in rural New Leipzig and educated in a country school. Delores came to Glen Ullin as a young lady and worked at a restaurant and baby sat. She met Alvin Kreis in Glen Ullin and they were married October 16, 1957 at Johanesthal Church north of New Leipzig. Following marriage they purchased the Metzger farm west of Glen Ullin. Delores continued to work in the restaurants. In 1978 Delores accepted a position as the Activities Director at the Marian Manor, a position she held for six years and continued in the activity department as an Activity Aid until 2006. Delores enjoyed going to rodeos near and far, traveling with Alvin, and being involved in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and its Women?s group. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband of 50 years Alvin, of Glen Ullin; her brothers: Henry Zimmerman, Albany, OR; Clifford (Arlene) Zimmerman, Sidney, MT; Milton (Sylvia) Zimmerman, Plymouth, IN; and Wilmar (Rosella) Zimmerman, New Leipzig, ND and her sisters Violet Schock, Elgin, ND; Nelda (Emil) Kallas, New Leipzig, ND; Ilene (Ronald) Will, Elgin, ND, and a number of nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her parents.
