Delores Kuntz

Funeral Mass for Delores Kuntz, 91, of Glen Ullin will be 10:30 a.m. CT, Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will follow at Glen Ullin Cemetery.


Visitation for Delores will be from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. CT, Monday, November 25, 2019 with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m. at the church.


Delores passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin.


Delores was born February 5, 1928 to Jacob and Mary (Klein) Hochhalter in Grant County, North Dakota. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from New Leipzig High School. She taught school for a few years before meeting Mike Kuntz Jr. The couple was married in California where Mike was stationed at the time. To this union five children were born, Lawrence, Mary, Caroline, Dwight and Dean. Together the couple raised their family on the Kuntz Family Farm south of Hebron. The couple retired to Glen Ullin in 1972. Delores was known for making quilts for all her family members. She put hours of hard work and love into each quilt making sure each stich was done to perfection. She was also known for her delicious cooking, baking and all the years she spent as a seamstress at the Marion Manor.


Delores is survived by her children, Caroline (Calvin) Aldrich of Alabama, Dwight (Echo) of Glen Ullin, Dean (Sue) of Oregon, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; son-in-law, Mike Richards; and sister-in-law, Lois Hochhalter.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Mary; husband, Mike; infant son, Lawrence; daughter, Mary; brothers, Rueben, Harry, Edwin, Wilbur Hochhalter; sisters, Gertrude Brace and Esther Hochhalter.
