Memorial Services for Delvin ?Del? Sailer, 63, of Dickinson will be 10:30 a. m. Monday, August 6, 2007 at Evangelical Bible Church, Dickinson with Pastor Tim Privratsky officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2007 from 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Del passed away Friday, August 3, 2007 at his home in Dickinson with his family by his side after a 5 ? year battle with cancer. Del was born October 27, 1943 the son of Carl and Bertha (Becker) Sailer in Beulah, ND. He attended grades 1-8 in the rural schools of Hazen and later graduated high school from Hazen High in 1961. Del attended college at NDSU, Fargo and DSU, Dickinson and also the Rocky Mountain College of Auctioneering in Billings, MT. Del entered the North Dakota National Guard in 1965 and served with the 164th Engineer Group from 1965-1972 when he was discharged with the rank of Specialist E-4. On September 2, 1966 Del and Joan Riegel were united in marriage at Halliday, ND. Del and Joan lived in Bismarck after marriage and then moved to Dickinson where they made their home and raised their children. While in Dickinson, he worked for the Northwestern National Life Insurance Company; Hughes Tool Company and spent 21 years with Farm Credit Services of Mandan, ND. Del loved his Lord and offered himself as a servant to God?s will. Whenever called upon, Del served his Lord and church in whatever capacity needed. Del loved horses and was a member of the 7th Cavalry in Dickinson prior to his illnessHe is survived by: his mother, Bertha Sailer, Dickinson; his wife, Joan, Dickinson; two sons: Mark (Kris) Sailer, Fargo, ND and Ryan (Dawn) Sailer, Minneapolis, MN; one daughter: Dina (Troy) Maas, Omaha, NE. ; 4 grandchildren: Devin, Emma and Grace Sailer and Elise Maas. ; one sister: Shirley Gutknecht, Port Hueneme, CA. Del is preceded in death by: his father, Carl Sailer.
