Devon Scott Murray, 19, of Dickinson, passed away unexpectedly on November 7, 2024, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.
Devon was born on January 21, 2005, to Brian and Jenifer (Maier) Murray in Bismarck. Devon's life, though brief, was filled with connections, passions, and a profound love for family.
A 2023 graduate of Dickinson High School, Devon was known for his quiet nature. He was well versed in today's digital world and was an avid gamer. He had a large community of friends across the country. His online connections meant a great deal to him and he especially enjoyed meeting them in person during his travels. He was recently planning a trip to Las Vegas to visit the most meaningful connection he'd met online.
After high school, Devon worked various jobs while exploring different paths. Recently, he was thrilled to settle into a new role as an assembly tech at Steffes, where he had hoped to build a lasting career. He took pride in his work and was excited for the opportunities ahead.
Devon's role as big brother was one he cherished deeply. He adored Jaxon and Tyson, and never missed a chance to pick them up from school or spend time with them. As the oldest of the cousins, he loved being the 'cool big kid,' always ready to make his younger family members smile.
Devon is remembered by his family and friends for his kind, gentle heart and his ability to connect with others in his own unique way. Though his life ended far too soon, his impact on those who knew him will be felt for a lifetime.
Devon is survived by his parents, Brian and Jenifer Murray; his brothers, Jaxon and Tyson; Grandma Stephanie Murray; Nana Rose Maier; Great Grandma Ellen Ziegenhagel; Uncles Matt (Janel) Maier, Josh Maier; 8 younger cousins; and a loving network of friends who were cherished as family.
He is preceded in death by his Brother Joseph Moch; Papa Steve Maier (Wishek); Great Grandparents Reuben Ziegenhagel (Wishek), Leslie and Kenneth Pahlen (Grand Forks), Bill and Mary Lowry (Mandan), and Edwin and Agnes Maier (Wishek); and Great Uncle Til Murray (North Field, MN).
