Funeral Services for Dick Molstad, 84, of Baker will be 3:00 p. m. , Friday, March 28, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Neva Rathbun, officiating. Burial will be in the Bonnievale Cemetery with Military Honors by the Baker American Legion Post 60. Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 a. m. to one hour prior to the service. Two days after falling at home, Dick Molstad passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Dick Molstad was born on July 7, 1929, the son of Thomas and Gladys (Gift) Molstad in Baker, Montana. He grew up and attended schools in Baker graduating from high school there. Dick enlisted in the US Army in 1947 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1952 and Dick returned to Baker. Dick then met Millie Wallace in Miles City, Montana and they were married in Miles City on February 14, 1954. To this union two children were born, Linda and David. Together they made Baker their home where they raised their children. Dick began work for Bunny Hufford, working construction for a few years. He then began working for Montana Dakota Utilities as a meter reader and later became foreman of the service crew. His crews took care of Baker, Plevna and Ismay. Dick retired after 30 plus years with MDU. He was a member of the Baker Community Church, American Legion Post, and the Baker Volunteer Fire Department. Dick lived for fishing and spent many hours at his favorite fishing holes. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, antiquing and traveling with Millie throughout the western states in their motor home. Dick was a little mischievous and always had a very witty sense of humor. The love of his life was his wife of 60 years, Millie, and his children and grandchildren. He always loved their visits to Baker. Survivors include, his wife, Millie, Baker; a daughter, Linda (Roy) Johnson, Bozeman, MT and a son, David (Cheryl) Molstad, Silverton, OR; five grandchildren, Christopher & Chad Johnson, Caleb, Rachel and Aaron Molstad and a great-grandson, Finn Johnson; and a sister, Doris (Bob) Dahl, Baker, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Joy Molstad.
