Dick Richardson

Dick was born November 12, 1931 to Clarence and Kathleen Boyes Richardson, in Miles City, MT. He grew up in Sonnette where his parents owned the grocery store and ran the post office. Dick attended Mitchell School, a one room school house, until the family moved to Miles City when he was 12, where they owned the Hamel Court motel and gas station. Dick graduated from Custer County High School in 1950 and entered the Air Force in 1952. Dick married Arleen Kolka on October 4, 1953 and they had two children, Tami and Jeff. Dick ran Park Standard Service for a number of years and then owned the Chevrolet dealership in Miles City. Dick and Arleen moved to Minnesota in 1967, where Dick spent his career in the car business, ultimately retiring from Downtown Pontiac. Dick loved all children, a good joke and a great party. There was always an extra plate and spare bedroom at Dick and Arleen’s for anyone that needed it. After retiring to Arizona in 1999 (first Mesa and then Pine Top/Lakeside) and then moving to Billings, Montana when Arleen became ill, Dick returned to the Twin Cities in 2010 after Arleen passed away. Dick passed away December 6, 2013 while residing at Nine Mile Creek Sr. Living in Bloomington, MN. Dick is survived by his children Tami (husband Jonas Runquist) of Edina, MN and Jeff (wife Kathy); his sister Mary Lou Keating; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Arleen (his “Princess”), who died in 2009. Saying – “For what it is to die, but to stand in the sun and melt into the wind? And what it is to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?” ~ Kahil Gibran
