Funeral Mass for Donald Kudrna, 93, of Dickinson, formerly of South Heart, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Richter celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Dickinson Mausoleum.
Visitation for Don will be 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home with rosary & vigil held at 6:00 p.m.
Don passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at St. Benedict's in Dickinson.
Donald “Don” Kudrna was born February 12, 1930 in Stark County, son of Frank and Mary (Kostelecky) Kudrna. On November 7, 1949, Don was united in marriage to Mildred Privratsky at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart. To this union one daughter, Donna and three sons, Kevin, Daryl and Scott were born. The family was raised in South Heart where Don worked for the Farmers Union Cenex station. He worked there for 40 years, 19 of those as manager. He also drove the school bus for South Heart School for many years.
Don was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus, serving as a Knight and a member of the Dickinson Elks.
Don is survived by his wife, Millie; one daughter, Donna (John) Thompson of Eau Claire, WI; three sons, Kevin (Sue) Bismarck, ND, Daryl (Roberta) Dickinson, ND and Scott (Gayle) Beulah, ND; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne, Dickinson, ND, Bob (Jeanette) Bismarck, ND; sisters, Dorothy Ficek, Dickinson, ND, Eleanore Badinger, Spokane, WA, and Darlene (Bob) Betchner, Mandan, ND, and Delores (Darrold) Raab, Bismarck, ND; sisters-in-law, Shirley Kudrna, Overland Park, KS and Josephine Kudrna, Dickinson, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Vince, Frank, Edward, Adolph, Laudie, Gilbert and Raymond. Sisters, Mary Kostelecky, Rose Privratsky, Minnie Pirkl and Margaret Fendrick.
