Doris Kubik

Funeral services for Doris Kubik, 88, of Dickinson will be 10:30 a. m. , Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, ND with Pastors’ Steve Tangen and Lisa Lewton officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Monday, August 4, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Doris passed away July 30, 2008 at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson, ND. Doris was born on the family home in rural Dickinson on February 26, 1920, to Emma and WK Zander. She was the youngest of four children. Doris attended the Lehigh Consolidated School for eight years and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1937. She then enrolled in Home Economics at Dickinson State for six months. She was later employed at J. C. Penny and Company in Dickinson. In 1939, she married Frank Kubik at St. John Evangelical Church. The following 40 years she worked with Frank at the K. P. H. R. near Manning, ND. They retired in the early 1980?s. She cherished raising their three children, Karen, Jeff and Jane. Doris also spent time in her garden raising berries, fruit and vegetables along with numerous types of flowers. Doris enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and the ranch life. One of her and Frank?s most favorite diversions was dancing. Doris is survived by: husband Frank, Dickinson; one son, Jeff; one daughter, Jane (Les) Schneider, Manning; one son-in-law, Dave Larson, Bowman; a sister, Alice Miller, Beach and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her daughter, Karen Larson; her two-day old infant daughter, Joy Annette and two brothers.
