Doris Ouellette

Funeral Mass for Doris Ouellette, 88, of Dickinson, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, August 2, 2010, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with Father Todd Kreitinger officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be 12:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. , Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 4:00 p. m. Doris passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010, at her home at Evergreen in Dickinson. Doris was born September 24, 1921, to Gust and Georgiana (Sauvageau) Fugere in Belfield, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She attended boarding school in Schefield where she graduated High School. After school she married Lawrence Ouellette at Gaylord Catholic Church on November 10, 1941. The couple made their home south of Belfield. It was here where they farmed and raised their family. In 1963, the family moved to Dickinson where Doris began working as a seamstress, first at Excel Cleaners and then at J. C. Penney until she retired. Doris continued her enjoyment of sewing for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards as well as cooking and baking. Doris was especially fond of spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Pinochle Club. Doris is survived by her sons, Cletus (Nonie) Ouellette, Paducah, KY; Wayne Ouellette, Rochester, MN; Curtis (Trish) Ouellette, Dubuque, IA; daughters, Ardean Ouellette, Dickinson; Geri Rotter, Belleair Beach, FL; Lyn (Dave) Raymo, Bismarck; Tina (Tom) Thompson, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sister Ida Mae (Alvin) Dietz, Dickinson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Diane Ouellette; son-in-law, Bud Rotter; brothers Anthony, Maynard, and Dorman Fugere and sisters Evelyn Ouellette and Catherine Metz. Doris? family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evergreen, 2143 6th Ave W. , Dickinson, ND 58601 or St. Patrick?s Catholic Church 310 2nd St W. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
