In light of the Coronavirus restrictions, a funeral service for Doris Thielen, 77, of Plevna, MT, will be held later this summer.
Doris passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck.
Doris Irene Stark was born in Beach ND on Oct 12, 1942, she was the daughter of Ernest and Adeline Stark. Doris attended grade school in Ollie, MT and graduated from Baker High School. She completed one year of nursing school at Eastern MT College, then attended Miles Community College for one summer and then worked for Russell Culver in Baker for an additional year. Doris was one of the first Fallon County Polio victims in November 1950 and spent several years recovering from the disease. Although she spent many months completely paralyzed as a child from Polio, she went on to lead a full life with her family. Doris married Dan Thielen on January 4th, 1964. Doris and Dan had three children, Tracie, Holly and Michael, with one bonus daughter Isabelle. Doris made her living as a ranch homemaker, mother, grandmother and a seamstress for family and friends. Doris passed away April 30, 2020 from complications of heart surgery.
Doris is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dan, her brother, Vern (Tonette) Stark. Her Sisters in law: Pearl Leach and Betty Neuman. Her children: Tracie (Thadd) O’Donnell, Dickinson ND, Holly (Tim) Gruba, Fargo, ND, Michael Thielen and Shelly Miller, Las Vegas, NV, Isabelle (Mark) Jacobsen, Baker, MT.
Grandchildren and Great grandchildren: Danielle (Austin) Harper, & their son, Hoyt, Zachary Gruba, Maria Gruba (fiancé Leon Sevigny), Seth (Kayla) O’Donnell & their son, Jace. Alain (Sarah) Jacobsen, Solenn Jacobsen (fiancé Pierce Peasley). Doris has 3 great grandchildren due summer of 2020. She is additionally survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Adeline Stark.
Doris will be laid to rest at a later date in St. Anthony’s cemetery in Plevna, MT. A gathering for family and friends will follow at the Plevna Fire Hall.
