Doris Mae Olson was born February 19, 1924 in New England, ND, daughter of Goodwin and Frances (Gallup) Olson.  She grew up and attended country school in rural Regent, graduating from Regent High School in 1943.  Doris went on to attend Interstate Business College in Fargo.  On September 23, 1945, Doris and Raymond Zander were united in marriage in Dickinson.  Together, they raised their family of four daughters: Bonita Rae, Sherry Linn, Eva Lee and Ruth Ann.  Doris enjoyed her time at home taking care of her family until 1963 when she began working for Tempo.  She then went to work for Herbergers Department Store, retiring in 1992.  From 1972-1975, Doris and Raymond owned and operated a motel in Belfield.

Doris was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild.  She was also a member of the Homemakers Club, Sons of Norway, Sewing Club and Bowling League.

Doris suffered with the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s for years.  She entered Country House two years ago where she received kind and loving care from the compassionate staff.  We will be forever thankful to the Country House family.
