Dorothy Becher

Funeral Services for Dorothy Becher, 88, of Glen Ullin will be 10:00 a.m., CT, Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic in Glen Ullin with Pastor Albert Lautenschlager. Burial will follow at Glen Ullin Cemetery. Visitation for Dorothy will be an hour before the service at the church.

Dorothy passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Marion Manor Health in Glen Ullin.

Dorothy was born on August 18, 1933 in Beulah, ND to Arthur and Leona (Miller) Fischer. She graduated from Beulah High School and went to Dickinson State University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Dorothy met and married Wayne Becher on August 27, 1960 at the First Congregational UCC in Glen Ullin. She taught country school for 13 years and came into town where she taught at the Glen Ullin School District for 29 years. Dorothy loved watching school sporting events and never missed a Glen Ullin basketball game. Dorothy enjoyed working in her yard, her two dogs, Rascal and Gretchen, traveling with Wayne and reading.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters; LaVonne (Paul) Mueller of Beulah, Esther Fischer of Bismarck; sister-in-law, Joyce (Hillmer) Maas of Minot; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Leona; husband, Wayne; sisters, Wanda Hartman, Darlene Kukuk, Arlys Fischer and Rose Fischer; brothers, Leslie Fischer, Ervin Fischer, Gene Fischer.
