Dotty was born August 19, 1925 to Carlton and Grace Hollowell in Indianapolis, IN. Times were tough and after her Fathers death she was sent to live in a Masonic Home. After growing up, she left the home and moved in with her Sister and Brother-in-Law in Texas. She then met and married Merle Peterson. They lived in Sidney, Montana and had 2 children, Dennis and Kathryn. They divorced but stayed friends. Dotty then met Jack Madison and they had 2 daughters, Lisa and Stacey, they moved from Sidney, Montana to Miles City, Montana and eventually ended up in Ekalaka, Montana, where until Jack’s death they made their home. Dotty worked two jobs to make ends meet, and in 1978 she met Kenneth Cretsinger. In January of 1979 they were married and enjoyed life together until Kenneth’s death in 2011.
Dotty always gave all she could to those she loved. She loved her children, playing piano and singing in church, hunting for antiques and arrowheads, catering banquets, going to auctions, and hauling her mail routes. She always had a special place in her heart for her family, friends, and especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Dotty instilled a little bit of something in every life she touched and will be missed by many.
