Liturgy of the Word service for Dorothy Haller, 90, of Dickinson will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Zent celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
Visitation for Dorothy will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m.
Dorothy passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Dorothy Ann was born August 6, 1928 in Dickinson, the daughter of George and Agnes (Splichal) Braun. Growing up she attended school in Dickinson. Dorothy married Joseph Haller on April 19, 1949, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with sons, Denny and Jim, and daughter, Connie.
Joseph’s job moved the family to California in 1961. They returned to Dickinson in 1968, making it their lifetime home. Dorothy worked at Montgomery Wards and Dairy Systems. Following that, she and Joe ran the family business, The Broadway Bar, upon Agnes Brauns retirement. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and snowmobiling. She especially loved family meals, spending time with her kids and grandkids, and playing cards with good friends. Dorothy will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Dorothy is survived by son, Jim (Candyce) Haller of Dickinson; daughter-in-law, June Haller of Dickinson; son-in-law, Dave Albrecht of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Haller-Kjerstad of Eagle, ID, Cory (Joelene) Haller of Dickinson, Danny (Nikki) Haller of Dickinson, Michael Haller of Fargo, ND, Lindsay Haller of Fargo, ND, Christopher Albrecht of Olathe, KS; nine great-grandchildren, Trevor, Jordan, Isabelle, Aspen, Zoe, Abby, Morgan, Casey, Easton; brother, Bob Braun of CA; sister-in-law, Ann (Emery) Jahnke of Moorhead, MN; and special friend, John Martin of Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Braun; husband, Joseph Haller (2002); son, Denny Haller (2006); daughter, Connie Albrecht (2018); and siblings, Don and George Braun.Haller Dorothy
