Dorothy A. Kubik, 84, Dickinson, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at St. Luke?s Home, Dickinson. Funeral services will be 10:30 a. m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at the United Methodist Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Scott McKirdy, officiating. Visitation will be noon to 9 p. m. , Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00. Interment will be in the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Dorothy Adelaide Goth was born July 25, 1919, in Hammer, S. D. to Hans and Bertha (Hogan) Goth. She graduated from Dunn Center High School in 1937, and received a teaching certificate from Dickinson State Teachers College. She met Alfons Alex Kubik when boarding at his parents home while she was teaching rural school. On May 20, 1939, she married Alfons in Killdeer. They resided on a farm 10 miles north of Dickinson until 1948, when the family moved to Dickinson. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing cards and visiting. Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the ARC Aid and St. Luke?s Home. She also served as an election judge. Dorothy will be missed by her five children, Donald (Joy Meyers), Dickinson, ND, David (Sue), Florissant, MO, Delores (Wayne) Huss, Denver, Colo. , Leslie (Everett) Albers, Bismarck and Janet Kubik-Bleth, Dickinson; 14 grandchildren, Richard Kubik, Jeffrey Kubik, Kerry Kubik, Sonya Yungeberg, Jennifer Mix, Albert Albers, Gretchen Albers, Tanya Strathman, Hans Kubik, Lauren Stockert, Ian Kubik, Jay Bleth, Jessica Bleth and Alex Bleth; two great grandchildren, Tyler Yungeberg and Anna Louise Strathman; one brother, Weston (Emma) Goth, Madison, S. D. and one sister, Winifred Brown, Mandan, ND. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Alfons on October 18, 1993; one son, Joseph H. Kubik on April 13, 2002; four brothers, William, Wendell, Theodore and Arlie Goth and one sister, Irma Hovden. Everyone who knew her will remember her smile and twinkling eyes. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: St. Luke?s Home, 242 10th St. W. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
