A Funeral Mass for Dorothy A. Heinle, 57, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Dickinson. Military Rites will be by the Dickinson Honor Guard.
Visitation for Dorothy will be 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Ron Keller.
Dorothy passed away July 28, 2012 at her home in Dickinson.
Dorothy Ann Meissner was born on September 16, 1954, in Dickinson, the daughter of Lawrence and Hilda (Renner) Meissner. She grew up and attended school in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1973. Dorothy enlisted in the US Army in 1976 and during her enlistment she received her Lab Tech degree. After her honorable military discharge in 1986, she moved back to Dickinson where she attended Dickinson State College, earning her L.P.N. license. Dickinson was home for Dorothy and her children. She worked for several agencies as a caregiver. On December 1, 1994, Dorothy was united in marriage to Calvin Heinle. To this union, Kayla joined the family. Dorothy loved and cherished her three girls and especially her grandchildren. She loved to fish, as long as she didn’t have to bait the hook. Family was the most important thing to Dorothy.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Calvin, Dickinson, ND; three daughters, Kari (fiance’, Kyle Keighley) VanLeuven, Kelli (Erik) Lindborg and Kayla (special friend, Jamie Iverson) Heinle, all of Dickinson; two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Anders; three sisters, Mary (Walter) Macias of San Antonio, TX, Corey (Kirk) Genco of Kingsville, MD, and Cindy Walter of Bismarck, ND; and one brother, Darrell (Glow) Meissner of Eugene, OR.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rachel Hope McGee; one sister, Delray Meissner; and one brother, Robert Meissner.
