Dorothy C. Redetzke, 75, New England, died Monday, December 20, 2004, at her home. Funeral services are 10 a. m. , Monday, December 27, 2004, Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, with Rev. Jerry Erickson officiating. Interment will be in Tepee Butte Lutheran Cemetery, rural Regent. Visitation will be 8 a. m. to 12 Noon, Friday, December 24, 2004 and 12 Noon to 5 p. m. , Sunday, December 26, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 6 p. m. Sunday at Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England with a prayer service at 7 p. m. Visitation will also be Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Dorothy Herren was born January 27, 1929, in Arapahoe County, Colorado to Thomas Lewis and Mariettea Cecelia (Bullard) Herren. She attended and graduated from school in Colorado Springs. On April 17, 1947, Dorothy married Ralph Gilbert Redetzke at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. They moved back to the family farm south of New England in 1947. When the children were young, Dorothy was a Sunday school and 4-H teacher. Dorothy moved to New England in August of 2004, and lived there until her death. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling, crocheting, making crafts, visiting with friends, dancing, puzzles, reading, gardening, fishing, camping and picnicing. She was a member of Our Redeemer?s Lutheran Church, New England, New England Senior Citizens and the Lutheran Women Quilting. Dorothy C. Redetzke is survived by: three sons, Dayton (Donna), Galen (Ann), all of Reeder, ND and Rodney (Rhonda) Redetzke, Bowman, ND; three daughters, Nanette (Tino) Anies, Long Beach, Calif. , Nadine (Tom) Weippert, Cando, ND and Melonia (Richard) Legacie, Cando, ND; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Herren, La Marada, Calif. ; sisters-in-law, Arlene (Earl) Doe, New England and Phyllis (Joe) Herold, Dickinson and a special friend, Duane Wobig, New England. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ralph; infant son, Gary; one sister, Virginia; one step grandchild, Angela Hansey and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoffer.
