Funeral Services for Dorothy Renner, 87, of Dickinson, ND will be at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 12:00 pm to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with a rosary service at 7 p. m. Dorothy passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Med Center One Hospital in Bismarck, ND. Dorothy Renner was born May 18, 1922 in Bismarck, North Dakota, the daughter of Harry and Pearl Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Bismarck. She married Edwin Eugene Phillips on June 18, 1942. For a few years, they resided in Bismarck where she worked as a bookkeeper. During this time four children were born. In the mid 1950’s they moved to Dickinson, North Dakota, where they had two more children. Her husband, Edwin Eugene Phillips, died on January 18, 1961. Dorothy later remarried Adam Renner on June 20, 1971 in Dickinson, North Dakota. Adam died on August 11, 2001. While living in Dickinson, North Dakota, Dorothy was a homemaker and a past secretary at the VFW. She enjoyed playing cards and playing yahtzee. She is survived by three sons, Dennis Phillips, Phoenix, Arizona, Gerald Phillips, Fargo, North Dakota, and Edwin Phillips, Weimar, California; three daughters, Kathleen Phillips, Chandler, Arizona, Aleta Huskinson, Kingman, Arizona, Carol Gentille, Chandler, Arizona; one sister, Fern Nelson, Petaluma, California; one brother, Harold Nelson, Kent, Washington; 16 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two parents and three brothers.
