A Liturgy of the Word service for Doug Herauf, 63, of Mandan, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, November 9, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will take place in the St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield, ND. Visitation for Doug will be 2:00 p. m. – 5:00 p. m. , Sunday, November 8th at the funeral home with a vigil service being held at 4:00 p. m. , led by Deacon Dallas Carlson. Doug passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 of natural causes while at work. Doug was born May 19, 1952 in Dickinson, the son of Valentine and Margaret (Schulz) Herauf. Growing up, he attended St. Pius School in Scheffield, later graduating from New England High School. Doug was blessed with two daughters, Patsy and Kimberly. Doug began his lifetime career in the North Dakota oilfield at a young age, working on his own or for other oilfield companies. Most recently, he was working for SM Fencing out of Dickinson. Doug enjoyed bowling, playing pool, fishing and hunting. He was a man of few words, with a wonderful personality, who always enjoyed being around others. Doug is survived by his daughters, Patsy Herauf, Bismarck and Kim (Jason) Balliet, Dickinson; grandchildren, Jay Herauf, Devon Hlibichuk, Kaylee Hlibichuk, Sabrina Hlibichuk, Paige Balliet, Jake Balliet and great-grandchild, Christopher Hlibichuk; special friend, Julie DiMeo; her children, Jamie (Nylee), Michael (Chelsee), Christina (Brandon); her grandchildren, Melanee, Emilee, Kennedy and Sydnee; sisters, Judy (Mark) Anthony and Nancy Gerou, all of Dickinson; brothers, Ron (Alvina), Billings, MT, Stanley (Charlene), MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
