In 1998, he started a boring business called the “Pokin & Hopin” with his son, Brad. They did bores in the four state area based out of Durango, CO. Doug was a hard working husband, a devoted father, a loving grandfather and a dear friend to many. He was a confident and caring father and took pride in his children?s accomplishments however large or small. Doug was looked up to and respected by both of them and they were proud to call him Dad. His confidence and reassurance at work and at play will be missed immensely. He loved his work and gave it his all so that his family could have everything they needed and more. Aside from his black cowboy hat, snakeskin boots, and Adolph his trademarks included hard work and friendly conversation. Doug was an outstanding welder and a jack of all trades. He would never turn down a chance to sing karaoke or just sing songs with family and friends.
