Duane Sickler

A funeral service for Duane E. Sickler, 66, of Dickinson, will be 3:00 p. m. , Friday, January 23, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented by the Dickinson Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. , Friday, January 23, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Duane passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Duane E. Sickler was born April 18, 1948 in Dickinson, the son of Tony and Tillie (Mischel) Sickler. He grew up on the family farm north of Dickinson, and attended school at the Tabor Country School and Trinity High School. After school, Duane served for a time in the military. He spent the rest of his life in the Dickinson area, working at various construction and handy man projects. He was very meticulous in his projects. Duane had a zeal for the Lord, and was very eager to share his passion with others. He was very fond of the time he spent on the farm, and cherished return visits there. Duane is survived by his children, Travis (Heather) Sickler of Pierre, SD , Liza Sickler of Pierre, SD, Jill (Justin) Gilmore of Sioux Falls, SD, April Hope of Bozeman, MT and August Sickler of Bozeman, MT; five grandchildren, Taylor Sickler, Jaden King, Delaney Gilmore, Elijah Sickler, Emma Sickler and Grady Gilmore; brothers, David Sickler of Great Falls, MT, Ray (Angela) Sickler of Bozeman, MT, Alfred (Mary) Sickler of Dickinson, ND, Arnie Sickler, Dale (Sharon) Sickler, and Rodney Sickler all of Dickinson, ND; sisters, Arletta Anton of Dickinson, ND, Adzie (Jim) Barstow of Walnut Creek, CA, Marie (Bob) Bostock, Marla (Dennis) Svhil and Cindy Sickler all of Dickinson, ND, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Tillie Sickler, and two brothers, Donald and Jerry Sickler; brother-in-law, Ron Anton.
