Dustin was born on July 2,1975, the son of Dennis and Faye (Morrison) Koenig in Bowman, ND. He grew up on a ranch north of Baker and attended schools in Baker graduating from the Baker High School in 1994. Kandi was born on April 22, 1975 the daughter of William D. and Mary Ellen (Veroye) Bagley in Bowman, ND. She grew up in town-yet was a ranch girl through and through. She attended schools in Baker graduating from the Baker High School in 1993. Dustin and Kandi were very active in school. They both worked with their horses in 4-H and participated in sports; Dustin in football and basketball; Kandi in basketball and as a wrestling mat-maid. Dustin and Kandi attended many Play Days with their horses and always would help the younger kids with theirs. After graduation Kandi completed her CNA (certified nurse assistant) class and began working at the Fallon Medical Complex. The Koenig and the Bagley families were good friends as the children grew up together, so it was no surprise that Dustin and Kandi began dating and were married on July 23, 1994 at the Morrison family ranch at Ollie. Dustin and Kandi moved to Glendive where Dustin attended Dawson Community College and graduated with a Parts Management Degree while Kandi worked at the Glendive Community Hospital as a CNA. They moved back to Baker in 1996 where Dustin worked for Car Quest Parts and Kandi started a Day Care Center for a couple of years. Together they shared a dream to live in the country and take part in the ranch life. In August of 2003 they purchased the Francis Madler farm and moved out to the Ollie neighborhood where they made their home since. Their family continued to grow as well as their farm and animals – you could find cats, dogs, chickens, goats, horses, and a cow or two. Dustin and Kandi had a love for the outdoors as well as for 4-H. They both became 4-H leaders and had just completed certification to teach shooting sports for the 4-H club. Together they enjoyed black powder and lever action shoots and competed in the tri-state area shoots. They both were very community minded and Dustin was a member of the Baker Volunteer Fire Department. Currently Dustin was working for Griffith Steel and Kandi was working at the Fallon Medical Complex. Their life was devoted to the love of their four children, Tina Marie, Travis Dustin, Taylyn Mae and Terrell Robert. Being able to live in the country with the children and their animals, brought them great joy. Dustin and Kandi are survived by their four children, Tina, Travis, Taylyn and Terrell; their parents, Dennis & Faye Koenig and Bill & Mary Ellen Bagley; their grandparents, Evelyn Morrison, Ed Koenig, Dolores Veroye all of Baker and Sylvia Bagley of Marmarth, ND; Dustin?s siblings, Darin (LaRae) Koenig and their children, Kaelei & Kaden, Miles City, and a sister, Denise Koenig, Baker; Kandi?s siblings, Karrol (Jake) Williams and their daughter, Alex, Gillette, WY; Karmen Bagley, Rapid City, SD and Will Bagley, Baker.
