Duwayne Kinnischtzke

Duwayne Kinnischtzke, 59, of Glen Ullin, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Medcenter One in Bismarck. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Central Time at the Sacred Heart Church in Glen Ullin on Friday, June 6, 2008 with the Reverend Gaylund Olson, officiating. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart in Glen Ullin from 4-8 pm on Thursday with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Burial will be held in the St. John Cemetery in Hebron. Duwayne was born February 4, 1949 in Beulah, ND, the son of Oscar and Ruth (Voegele) Kinnischtzke. He was raised on the farm and educated at the Glen Ullin School and was 1967 graduate. He attended Dickinson State University and graduated from their in 1971. Duwayne taught school for two years in Hosmer, SD. He returned to the area in 1973 and farmed with his brother Allan north of Glen Ullin. Duwayne married Joan Schafer, October 12, 1979 at Sacred Heart. Following marriage they resided in Glen Ullin. Duwayne was extremely community minded and worked tirelessly supporting the community of Glen Ullin. He served as the City Auditor for Glen Ullin, Glen Ullin Park Board, Glen Ullin Fire Dept. , Glen Ullin Fire District representative, Life time member of the North Dakota Firemen?s Assn. , Glen Ullin Bowling Assn. , Crossroads Golf Assn. Secretary, Glen Ullin Lions, Glen Ullin Airport Authority, was an EMT instructor/coordinator, and a past president of Theta Chi Fraternity while he was in college. His countless hours of volunteerism will be greatly missed by the Glen Ullin community. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Joan, Glen Ullin, ND, one brother Allan, of Glen Ullin, and one sister Darlene Kinnischtzke, Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents.
