Edith Lamb

Edith Mae Newport Lamb, 78, of Baker passed away on October 27, 2004 at the home of her youngest daughter, Jackee & Bill Freeman. She passed very peacefully after her 25 year battle with Alzheimer?s with her loving family at her side. Edith was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Newport (Duncan), her father, Marion Newport; three brothers, Albry, Cordice and Dewey; a granddaughter, Cassandra Lynn Ankrom (2 weeks old)Where ever her daughter Jackee and son-in-law Bill Freeman moved she moved with them. When we moved to Baker three years ago she moved here with us. She was at the Friendship Villa Nursing Home in Miles City for two years, but came home to go meet all the angels waiting in heaven for her. She leaves behind four children, Archie (Trudy) Lamb, Beth (Terry) Chatfield, Tom Lamb and Jackee (Bill) Freeman; grandchildren: Patrick, Krysta, Cody, Cassandra Lynn and Jason from daughter, Jackee, Chris and Laura from Archie, Jason from daughter Beth and Bobby and Brian from Tom. She will be missed by all that knew her, everyone that came in contact with her just fell in love with her winning smile and upbeat personality. When my husband Bill first met her it was at the Lovell nursing home where he worked, and didn?t even know she was his future wife?s mother, she was, is and always be very special to him. He loved her like she was his very own mother. I am so thankful that we were able to bring her home and let her die with dignity and with the people who loved her the most, I am also thankful that I was with her when she took her last breath on this earth, that will be something I will be able to carry with me for always and eternity, she was a great mom, always letting me know that she loved me. I want to thank everyone especially from Mitchell?s for being so understanding and caring at a time when we needed it the most.
