Edith ?Eydie? Helen Sailer, 58, of Hebron, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 while a patient at St. Alexius, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 10:00 AM Central time at St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Hebron with Father Patrick Schumacher, celebrating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Hebron where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM with the Rev. David Ling, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ann?s Cemetery in Hebron. Eydie was born January 4, 1949 at Hebron the daughter of Alex and Mary (Bader) Roll. She was raised in Hebron, ND, and graduated from Hebron Public School in 1967. After graduating from beauty school in Bismarck, ND she became a beautician and moved to Bozeman, MT. Eydie married Gary Nelson Freeman in 1971 and had a daughter, Tara. Gary was killed in a car accident in 1971. Eydie returned to Hebron, ND and opened Tara?s Beauty Shop. In June 1973 she married Willard ?Bill? Sailer in Hebron. In 1976 Travis was born. Eydie was the secretary of T&T Construction in 1977 and later worked at the Hebron hardware store followed by Lapps Bakery and then as the Hebron City Assessor. Eydie opened and operated the Country Cupboard store to present. Eydie enjoyed many things in life but most of all her love and passion were her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting by a camp fire, sewing with friends, cooking, canning, stamping, scrap booking, and making greeting cards for her family and friends. Every day she spent time in devotions and reading scriptures. She was active in 4H, High School Rodeo, and the Broken Arrow Saddle Club for over 30 years. Eydie was a cub master for Cub Scouts and belonged to the Hebron Bridge Club; Eydie loved playing cards with her family and friends. During her long battle with cancer, she enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard and cherished long visits with her friends at home. She was a remarkable lady that dearly loved her family, and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Willard ?Bill? Sailer of 34 years; one daughter: Tara (Steve) Heydt of Mandan; and one son: Travis (Debbie) Sailer of Hazen; seven wonderful grandchildren: Logan, Haley, Hannah, Layton, and Josie Sailer; Parker and Ruby Heydt; her sisters and brothers: Virginia Peterson of Dodge ND, Mary Lou (Joe) Zenter of Idaho Falls ID, Evangeline (Bill) Parker of Idaho Falls ID, Ann Marie ?Dolly? (John) Edwards of Rock Springs WY, Morris Roll of Wolf Point MT, Ted (Diane) Roll of Prairieville, LA, and sister-in-law Archie Roll of Bismarck ND, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father and mother; Alex and Mary Roll, three brothers; Frances, Larry, and Donald, one sister; Joyce, one brother in law; Wencil Peterson. Bill and the family thank all the special friends and all those who helped Eydie in her courageous battle with cancer over the past year, with special thanks to Claudia Wehri, and the staff of St. Alexius TCU.
