Edith A. Wanner, 83, Dickinson, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at St. Luke?s Home, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a. m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Gary Benz celebrating. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. There will be a St. Pius rosary followed by a parish vigil led by Deacon Ralph Stockert at 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home. Edith A. Jirges was born April 13, 1922, in Dickinson to Fred and Mary (Faiman) Jirges. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in New Hradec until the 8th grade. Edith worked at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center until her marriage to Paul J. Wanner in 1944. They were married January 22, 1944 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. Paul and Edith bought a farm northwest of New England. They farmed until 1979 when they retired and moved to Dickinson. Paul died September 22, 1996. Edith was a member of St. Mary?s Altar Guild, New England, St. Pius Verein, St. Anne?s Society, Catholic Daughters and Christian Mother?s at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers, bird watching, playing cards, walking, baking and doing word search puzzles. Edith is survived by her children: Duane (Sheila) Wanner, New England, Harvey (Jean) Wanner, New Hradec, Deborah (Jim) Fogarty, Belle Plaine, MN, Terry Wanner, Dickinson, Marietta (Don) Nygaard, Mandan, Dale, New England, Jackie (Ray) Kraft, Dickinson, Pauly (Jim) Krebs, New England, and Janel (Bryan) Schiele, Minot; 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Olheiser, Dickinson; brothers, Alfred (Irene) Jirges, Dickinson, and Edwin (Cecelia Krank) Jirges, Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; and infant son, Joseph and a grandson, Jesse.
